1. What we collect

When you use SimplerPool, we collect:

• Account info: your email address (used for passwordless sign-in and billing receipts).
• Pool profile: pool size, equipment type, sanitizer, filter, structure, and similar setup details you enter or tell your AI Coach.
• Water test data: chemistry readings you enter or scan, and the maintenance tasks you log — only saved on paid tiers.
• ZIP code: used only to look up utility rate plans in real time; we don't store it with your account.
• Payment info: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only receive your subscription status and billing history from Stripe.
• Contact-form messages: whatever you send us, including your email address, so we can reply.

2. How we use it

We use your data to: run the calculations and AI features you ask for, save your pool profile and test history so you don't have to re-enter it, process billing through Stripe, send transactional email (sign-in links, receipts), and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. AI processing

When you chat with your AI Coach, scan a test strip, or ask for AI-generated guidance, the relevant pool and water-chemistry details you've shared are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. This is necessary for those features to work. We don't send your account email or payment information to the AI provider.

4. Third parties we use

• Stripe — payment processing and billing.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-generated guidance and chat.
• Resend — transactional email (sign-in links, contact-form replies).
• Cloudflare — hosting, database, and infrastructure.

Each of these processes data only as needed to provide their part of the Service, under their own privacy terms.

5. Cookies

We use one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us — we'll confirm once it's done.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us and we'll respond promptly.

8. Children's privacy

SimplerPool is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, hashed session tokens) to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
